Chargers End Stretch vs. Ranked Opponents With Loss at McHenry Co.

Closing out a stretch of three straight matches against ranked opponents, the Carl Sandburg volleyball team lost 25-18, 25-15, 25-20 on Friday afternoon at No. 14 McHenry County (5-0).
Sophomore middle Annie McKim (Yates City, Ill./homeschooled) had a team-best eight kills on just 11 attacks to lead the Chargers (4-4).
Carley Reeves-Eakins (Branson, Mo./Reeds Spring) added seven kills for Sandburg and tied libero Kelsey Hobson (Bartonville, Ill./Limestone) for the team lead with eight digs. Laney Chiaravalle (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) had 19 assists and Megan Crome (Marshall, Ill./Marshall) served two of Sandburg’s four aces in the match.
